Incorporating insights from Kenneth Copeland and David Oyedepo

The blood of Jesus is not just a theological idea—it is a divine weapon, a covenant seal, and a living force. Throughout Scripture, the power in the blood of Jesus is made evident, but for many believers, it remains underutilized. Understanding and applying this power can mean the difference between defeat and victory, bondage and freedom.
1. Understand the Covenant Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ
In "Pursuit of His Presence", a daily devotional, Kenneth Copeland shares how he initially did not understand the power of pleading the blood. However, he later discovered that “when you plead the blood, you have laid down your case and put your entire confidence on an oath that is covenant-sworn by Almighty God.”
The blood of Jesus is the foundation of the New Covenant (Luke 22:20). It ratifies every promise of God and stands as an eternal testament that you belong to Him. As David Oyedepo boldly states in The Blood Triumph, "The blood is the highest form of spiritual weaponry ever delivered to man."
2. Plead the Blood by Faith
To plead the blood is to invoke the legal right and protection that the blood of Jesus affords. In the same way a lawyer pleads a case in court, you are standing on the terms of the covenant and saying: "I am covered. I am redeemed. I am delivered!"
It is not a ritual—it is a declaration of faith. When challenges arise—whether sickness, fear, or spiritual attacks—say, “I plead the blood of Jesus!” The devil recognizes this covenant and must back off.
3. Declare Your Redemption
Ephesians 1:7 affirms: "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace."
Redemption means you have been bought back, released from bondage, and made free. The blood cancels your past, breaks curses, and removes condemnation. As Kenneth Copeland puts it, "Jesus’ blood obliterated your sin on the cross."
Every time you feel guilt or the enemy reminds you of your failures, respond boldly: “I plead the blood! Case dismissed—lack of evidence!”
4. Apply the Blood Daily
David Oyedepo teaches in his book, "The Blood Truimph" that the blood should be consciously engaged daily, not just during crises. Sprinkle it over your family, your home, your journey, your mind, your health, and your purpose.

You apply the blood in prayer:
“Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my household today.”
“By the blood of Jesus, I am protected, healed, and victorious.”
5. Take Communion with Revelation
Holy Communion is not a religious observance—it is a blood covenant meal. Jesus said, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many” (Mark 14:24).
When you drink of the cup, do it with the awareness that you are activating covenant realities. You are partaking of divine immunity, strength, and victory.
6. Speak the Word with the Blood
Scripture and the blood of Jesus work together. Revelation 12:11 says, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” Speak and declare the Word of God boldly and with clarity.
Speak boldly:
“I have redemption through the blood!”
“By the blood of Jesus, I am an overcomer!”
Final Thoughts
The blood of Jesus is not a passive symbol—it is the active force of our victory. As Kenneth Copeland so powerfully put it, “God is your Father and Jesus is your blood brother.” Everything He has, He shares with you through that blood.
Walk boldly. Speak confidently. And whenever life tries to corner you, lift your voice and declare with faith: “I plead the blood!”
