A Prayer of Gratitude
"Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence." Ephesians 3:12 NLT.
The Bible says in Psalm 92: 1 and 2:
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night". (New King James Version)
It is a good thing to give thanks to God. It is pleasing to God. A 2003 research by McCullough and Emmons showed that expressing gratitude helps people to eliminate negative emotions, and helps you gain a new perspective on issues in particular and your life in general. It also increases happiness, improves relationships and general well-being.
Here is a prayer of gratitude you can pray to express thanks and appreciation to God.
"Father, I thank You
for electing me
to Your plan of Salvation,
saving me from Satan and from sin,
from the world and from myself,
and I thank You for choosing
to reveal Yourself to me
that I may love You
and call You "Father".
Thank You for loving us,
reconciling us to Yourself
through the work and sacrifice
of Your Perfect Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
His life for ours,
the greatest gift ever given,
His love for us,
the greatest love ever shown.
I look forward to the day
that He will come again
to gather and take us
to our new home.
Father, thank You for
sending Your Holy Spirit
to guide in my life and purpose,
in accordance with Your will,
sealing me unto the day of judgment.
I thank You for my wonderful family,
for those you surround me with,
and for Your peace and love
that sustains us.
I Thank You for all things.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
