How To Become Outstanding
Updated: Jun 30, 2021
In the Bible we see people who did outstanding things in their generation; people like Joseph who endured much tribulation but in the end God used him to preserve lives (see Genesis Chapters 37 through 50). He was an outstanding individual who developed innovative solutions and interventions. We also see Daniel who had an excellent spirit, and whom God gave unusual insight and understanding. He served in successive political administrations in Babylon at the highest levels and had great influence with Kings (see The Book of Daniel).
We also see people like Solomon who had unusual wisdom, great wealth, and achieved great feats (see I Kings Chapters 1 through 10), and many others. Some people in this generation read these accounts as stories of the past, but there is a way to become an outstanding individual who is excellent, creative, and genius all at once. Some new fields have emerged that offer products, seminars, and teachings to improve one’s effectiveness, abilities, and make one successful. While they may or may not work, there is a way for you to become genius, outstanding, and excellent and it comes from the creator of the Heavens and Earth. No astrology or enchantment can match his power and favour over a person’s life.
If you desire to have that special touch that makes you outstanding, read on.
People who have made Jesus Christ the Lord and savior of their lives, surrendered to Him, and become born again Christians have become new in Christ. Jesus said in John 3 verse 3:
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. (New International Version)
And here is what the Word of God says about a person who has surrendered to Christ and is now a believer:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17 - New King James Version).
This means that when you surrender to Jesus, and become born again, not only do you become new, all things become new for you. You are recreated to become outstanding. You can receive uncommon wisdom, favour, creative invention, genius, etc. It is important to take that first step of surrendering to Jesus and making Him the Lord of your life, and your savior. You can do that from where you are by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. You can do this by praying the Salvation Prayer.
If you are already born again but would like to rededicate your life to Jesus, you too can also pray the Salvation Prayer.
Now that you are born again, you are made new and all things are new for you. You now belong to a new covenant that is established on better promises, it is better than the one Joseph, Noah, Moses, Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Daniel, David, Solomon and other old testament figures belonged to. See what the Bible says in Hebrews 8 verse 6:
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. (New King James Version).
How do you become outstanding? God Himself makes you outstanding. See what the Bible says in Psalm 3 verse 3:
But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. (New King James Version)
God is your glory, the one who makes you stand out and obtain greatness. He is the one who lifts up your head and makes you not be mediocre. God does it! Not you, not astrology, not your genes, God does it.
So, how do you come into this blessing? After you surrender to Jesus which is the first step, there are things you can do to fully come into the blessing of being outstanding.
1. Ask for it
God has promised His children and followers of Jesus that when they ask for good things from Him, He will give it to them. See Matthew 7: 7 – 11 and John 16:23 – 24. Ask “in the Name of Jesus”, that is the ticket and ask in faith, believing that you will receive it. See Mark 11 verse 24:
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (New King James Version).
2. Get Established In The Faith
As you study the Word of God, get to know Jesus, and grow in faith, you become more and more like Jesus. You become changed from glory to glory (see 2 Corinthians 3:18). You become outstanding. How do you become established in the faith? Spend time studying the Word of God (the Bible), talk to God in prayer regularly, and fellowship with other believers. See For New Believers. It has information that will help you. Download the New Life in Christ course and go through it.
3. Ask God for Wisdom
God has said in James 1 verses 5 – 6:
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (New International Version)
When you ask God in faith to give you wisdom to make you outstanding, He will give it to you. He doesn’t just write stuff or say stuff in the Bible, He has the ability to back up what He says. He means what He says.
4. Ask for Divine Direction
Often when people fail or stay mediocre, it is because they do not go the right way. They are not at the centre of the will and purpose of God for their lives. Can you imagine a gifted pianist and composer spending her life trying to be a gifted painter when she has neither the talent nor the gift for it?
Meanwhile, if people discover exactly what God has brought them into this world to do, and they discover exactly what they were built and designed to accomplish on earth, and they get to know what they should do and where they should be, it helps to bring them into a place of greatness. They function well, shine, and flourish in the place God has planted them.
It is therefore important to ask God to direct you. Ask in prayer and God who answers prayers will lead you and guide you in the way you should go. See Psalm 32 verse 8:
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. (New International Version)
Remember that when you are born again, you are God’s covenant child and you are a masterpiece:
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10 New Living
Translation (NLT)
